I feel like buying a vw camper van and running away. I realise that a holiday is out this year, but i think i may join the camping and caravanning club, and try and go somewhere next year. I saw a link to Haven sites, and for around 15 quid a night i can get a pitch, with access to toilet an shower block!

I've been looking at my nectar points, and i have enough for 20 quid at Argos, so i could buy a lantern and a mess kit.

Now you're talking! Camping is great, I camp alone just up the road from you in Lichfield and it's been really good, saved loads of cash by not driving home every night, it's all documented at http://corporate-camper.blogspot.com .

If you want to check out a great resource with stacks of info and a Forum full of the most friendly and helpful people I have ever come across on the web, then check out ukcampsite.co.uk

I can't stress enough how friendly and helpful these guys ('scuse the pun!) are. They also have plenty of "meets" through the year if you are looking to be a bit social. There is always someone on there to give you advice too.

I'm on the Forum, my name there is "Saturner".

Me again!

Forgot to mention about site fees... I generally pay £6-£7 per night at a site with showers and toilets.

Haven sites are a bit "commercial" and can be a bit noisy with loads of people and kids etc. It depends what you are looking for really, I like a bit of peace an quiet so I aviod any sites with clubhouses/entertainment/swimming pools, it makes it cheaper too.

Plenty of campsite reviews at ukcampsite too!
